Oh, this happy couple! I have loved photographing their anniversary sessions throughout the years, it’s been one of my favorite traditions as a photographer. These two have all the chemistry, and I love the idea of that they will be able to look back on our series of photographs and see not only how they have matured over time, but how their love has deepened year by year. Rose is a fellow photographer and one of my closest friends, and I am infinitely grateful for the friendship we have grown in Spokane. Here’s to many more years of happiness to Rose and Pete, and many more years of continued documentation!
Shelby and Andrew are married! Their wedding photos from Elkins Resort turned out even more beautiful than I had imagined, and I’m so pleased to be sharing them for the first time here.
These two had the most perfect day, and despite the threat of rain that eventually became a drizzle, they were still able to get married on the gorgeous banks of Priest Lake, which was a dream come true for the lovely bride. If Shelby was worried at all about the weather she didn’t show it, but instead kept repeating that whatever happened was what was supposed to happen, and that the day would be perfect either way. What a sweet reminder to us all about what was truly important on her big day – that she and Andrew would become husband and wife! And, it just so happens that I used her exact phrases to help ease my sister’s weather anxiety the next week, when it did, in fact, rain buckets on her wedding day, so Shelby gets extra props for keeping two wedding parties focused on love and light instead of stressing out about things that were out of anyone’s control.
So many congratulations to Shelby and Andrew as they begin their married life together! I couldn’t be happier for these two, and I’m thrilled to have been lucky enough to witness and capture their entire wedding day at Elkins Resort.

I loved photographing this idyllic bridal portrait session in the tropical paradise of Hawaii’s Big Island. The contrast between this soft, simple, and infinitely elegant vintage gown against the flow of hardened lava gets me every time. It’s a serene and tranquil beach-side, lava rock photo shoot that has such a different feel and tone from my beloved wedding photography in Spokane – what a fun challenge it is to work in different destinations around the world! This was my first experience shooting a portrait session in volcanic smog (vog), which is created as the Kilauea volcano oozes hot lava. There’s not doubt that the Hawaiian islands are made for romance, and that vog made for some pretty magical and romantic light and atmosphere at sunset!
Many thanks to the vendors who were involved in this ethereal bridal portrait session!
Samantha and Hayden are married! This gorgeous couple knows how to throw a gorgeous celebration – I am loving these photos of their wedding at Hayden Lake Country Club. What a perfect day they had!
It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Samantha and Hayden on this special day. The natural love and joy they have for each other shines through in these photos, and from the very beginning of the day I knew it would be an inspiring wedding. They have lived and traveled together as a couple to so many different places and have experienced so many different things together, and the result of which was a wonderful group of guests and family gathered together to celebrate this special occasion. Their wedding toasts were some of the funniest and most heart-felt I’ve seen! And, to make their day even more meaningful, Sam and Hayden chose to be married on Hayden’s parents’ wedding anniversary. What a gift and an honor to share such a significant date with some of the most important people in your life.
Thank you, again, to Sam and Hayden for having me as your wedding photographer, it was a joy to capture the day and watch you become husband and wife!
Thanks to the amazing vendors who made this day spectacular for Samantha and Hayden!
