What a gorgeous photo shoot I had with these two!  We had planned to spend most of the session at the lake on the docks, but since the light wasn’t cooperating we headed down the road to a forested area near the wheat field and spread out on a little dirt path.  I feel like I’m always saying this, but I love that in the right light, even the most ordinary location can transform into a setting that is so cozy and charming that sparse, skinny pine trees become whisper soft.

Check out these little love birds!

Meet little Ciaran:

Sweet, soft, squishy, sleepy, lovely newborn perfection.

Did your heart just melt like mine did?

I added it up, and for the fifth time this summer, I got to meet a childhood friend’s babies for the very first time.  There really is something special about watching the girls you grew up with turn into mothers, and I am so in awe of the beauty and grace with which each of them has done so.

My friend, Evie, made the trip from Washington, D.C. to visit her parents in Pullman, and while she was in the area we met at a park in Spokane for a photo session with her girls.  Gretchen and Georgia were so fun to work with!  These girls are so energetic and so loving, and smothered me with enough hugs and kisses to completely melt my heart.

Here are some images I was able to capture as they danced and played in the park:

I cannot believe it’s already the last day of August!  The month passed in a blur of non-photography related projects – most notably, The Great Home Renovation of 2012, which sounded so…romantic at first. and full of creative possibilities.  Six weeks later, and still working in the same area, the magic is gone, ha!  Thankfully, we did make some good headway, which means it’s back behind the lens for me!

Here is a sneak peek of my session yesterday with two little sweeties, Georgia and Gretchen.
