What could be more beautiful than a couple in love on a beach in Hawaii? A couple in love on a beach in Hawaii with their little babe in tow! What a sweet session with Loren, Caroline, and their little one.
Chelsea and Austin are engaged! In fact, they are nearly married, as this Thursday marks their big day, but I was lucky enough to have the chance to photograph this special session for them as they prepare to say their “I do’s.”
One of the perks of being a wedding photographer in Spokane is being able to easily fly to Hawaii for destination weddings and portrait sessions – something I took advantage of as wedding season is just beginning to gear up in the Pacific Northwest. Chelsea, Austin, and I met up on Oahu, and it was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to explore more of the island with them. We normally use Honolulu as a short day or two layover between flights to the Big Island or elsewhere, so it was fun to see that there is more to it than just Honolulu. Chelsea introduced me to a beautiful beach about 45 minutes from Waikiki, and I was blown away by the location. A little forest greets you before the ocean, and it was magical!
Chelsea and Austin were magical, too. It always warms my heart to meet couples who are so madly in love, and best friends who empower each other as well. They are clearly full of joy, and their love radiates from these images. It’s the real deal, y’all, and I am always honored to be in the presence of love.
A very, very special thank you to two of the most talented wedding vendors around, Blush Beauty Styling and Ocean Dreamer Florals. I was blown away by the beauty these two brought to this session, with their gorgeous hair and makeup, and gorgeous haku worn by Chelsea. She looked every part the queen, with her king at her side.
I absolutely love the connections I’ve made as a photographer in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area and the friendships I’ve gained along the way, thanks to our fabulous wedding community. I met Lindsey when she was working as a wedding stylist and coordinator, and as you can see from these photos, her style is perfectly neutral in all the ways that I love. Lindsey now owns Paisley Prints Spokane, one of my favorite local baby boutiques, and it’s been so fun to see her name pop up in all of the conversations I’m a part of now that I am pregnant myself!
We captured this simple, intimate maternity session at home with Lindsey and Ryne’s growing family. The gender of baby #3 remains a surprise for now, which is reflected in the sweet little nursery nook Lindsey put together – gender neutral all the way, with a touch of vintage, and perfect for their newest little girl or boy. I am secretly hoping there is another little girl coming their way, because Ryne and Lindsey make such cute ones, and I have two sisters myself and it’s just the best, but my gut instinct is that Baby Jones is Baby Boy Jones. And because my gut is saying boy, I think we’re all safe to assume that Baby Jones is in fact Baby Girl Jones (I was 1000% sure I was having a little girl myself, but after 3 gender confirmation ultrasounds, it’s pretty clear that I’m not)!
I am just in awe of this 38 week pregnant mompreneur, and the style grace with which she carries herself and her babies. Here’s to all the mamas rocking their baby bumps this summer and nesting away!

Can it be spring forever? It’s so true what Robert Frost penned, “Nature’s first green is gold.” We wanted to capture some of that gorgeous green and pair it with shades of gold for these Arbor Crest Winery wedding photos in Spokane. We kept the look of this bridal session clean and light-filled, highlighting the natural beauty of Arbor Crest, the bride, and the blossoming florals all around.
Bridal sessions have typically been more common with southern brides, but I see them becoming more and more popular with Pacific Northwest brides as well, something I could not be more thrilled about! For me, the best thing about capturing a beautiful bridal session like this one is seeing the bride outside of her big day, when she is calm and serene, and so full of anticipation for her wedding day – outside of the hustle and bustle that comes along with such a special event. It’s just her and her surroundings, paired with the essentials of her wedding: her stunning gown, a bold bouquet, and perhaps a table styled with the details she has carefully crafted with her vendors. Bridal sessions are a wonderful opportunity to really slow down and take the time to focus completely on the bride, and when they’re photographed at her future wedding venue, then they are all the more special!
As always, I had a team of the most talented vendors to collaborate with on this beautiful session. Thank you all for your amazing work, you make it look effortless!
