Happy Things :: a Winter Wonderland

I am really enjoying winter this year, and no one is more surprised by this than I am.  Usually anything related to chills, chattering teeth, and goosebumps makes me a grumpy lady, but this year I’ve been happy as a clam. It’s probably just a combination of very little snowfall, working from home with my husband, and not venturing far from my toasty, two-fireplaces-burning-at-all-times house, but it’s a first and I’m going with it.  Of course, the GORGEOUS winter imagery doesn’t hurt either!

The amazing Stephany and I met up a few weeks ago in the middle of a snowstorm to take advantage of the seasonal lighting.  When everything around you is a reflector, magic happens.

A huge thank you to Makeup by Evelyn Mauro, who created this beautiful, fresh look for Stephany!  As always, her work was perfection.

It’s a Wonderful Life!

This year I was blessed to send out my very first family photo card, and I can’t help but share it here.

What an exciting year 2013 has been!  Ron and I eloped in French Polynesia, I earned a Master’s degree, he started his own business, my photos were selected for print publication, he continued his reign as home improvement KING and whipped our house into shape, and “our” kids (I’m just the stepper here!) have continued growing into fun little almost-adults. I am so thankful to have them as friends, both Matt, and Cassie, and of course, my wonderful husband. This coming year has a lot to live up to – I’m looking forward to the challenge!

Happy holidays from our family to yours!

xo,

Sarah

P.S. Thank you to Simply Rosie Photography for this sweet capture. <3
