Mr. & Mrs. Norman

We did it! Ron and I are married! We successfully pulled off a secret international elopement in Moorea, French Polynesia, and it was hands-down the most the most wildly-romantic, sweetest, and magical day of all time, ever.

I’m working on a full, future post about it, so I don’t want to spoil it by saying too much right now, but I will say that the day involved a pretty hilarious legal ceremony with the mayor of Moorea, a sweet personal vow exchange on a small, private island at sunset, and hundreds and hundreds of beautiful little flowers – some even made it into my hair!

(The previous photos are a collaboration between Ron’s family members – and now mine – Karl and Renee Puou, and me. Captured by them, edited by yours truly)

And then for the honeymoon! I didn’t use my camera as much as I should have, because I was paranoid about sand and water destruction, but I did manage to snap a few shots of our beautiful island. Crystal clear, bright aqua, WARM ocean water was definitely the highlight of the island, and we spent 12 out of 14 days in the water and on the beach.

Sarah and Nathan

From the time she was a little girl, Sarah dreamed of having her wedding at her grandmother’s house in Deer Park, Washington. There’s a kind of Secret Garden atmosphere to the backyard that you feel as soon as you step into it. Patches of tall white daisies dip toward the sun, and rustic stones cut paths between leafy bushes, olive trees, and pines. Waterbugs skip through a bubbling creek, and a long, old wood fence sits between a grassy knoll and the picturesque red barn next door. In the soft evening light, it is nothing short of magical.

This past weekend, Sarah’s dream came true when she married her husband, Nathan, in an intimate ceremony attended by their immediate families. It was the perfect way to honor the memory of her grandmother, who passed away in May, though was certainly there in spirit.

I love that the photos of Sarah and Nathan took on an enchanted quality, thanks to some gorgeous lighting.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
