I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful week in California last month while attending the Artist Holiday workshop at Sunstone Villa and Winery. It was so refreshing to be among so many great artists and industry titans, and I relished watching their creative processes as they designed amazing inspirational sessions that photographed like a dream.
The Artist Holiday couldn’t have come at a better/worse time for me, personally speaking. I don’t often share details of my personal life online, so only close friends know what a difficult year 2015 has been for my husband and me. Just when I thought we had reached our maximum capacity for difficulties, November came at us (with a bang!). When both of my computers’ hard drives crashed within 24 hours of each other and had to be wiped out and rebuilt, the Apple Care engineer made a joke about bad things happening in threes, but my husband and I figure we capped it right around eight. He was thrown from a horse and ended up in the ER, I crashed our car, we decided to make a huge life change, our much prayed and hoped for, much anticipated little baby that we tried to conceive for three years died in the womb at 10 weeks, and I had to have a surgical procedure to remove it. A few days later, I flew to California for The Artist Holiday in what felt like a daze.
I am so grateful for this week in California like felt like a huge breath of fresh air, and I’m savoring all of the beauty I had the opportunity to capture.
