One of the many perks of being a wedding photographer in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area is the amazing network of other photographers and wedding vendors you are connected to. I know I’ve spoken of this before, but really, if you’re a wedding photographer (especially in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area), and you feel like you’re on an island working as a party of one, you are sadly mistaken and missing out, my friend! It’s such a joy to be counted as a colleague to so many talented professionals in our area, and Rose Cowger, of Urban Rose Photo, is one wedding photographer I am proud to be associated in all ways–both professionally and personally.
If you can’t tell, Rose is a beautiful, confident woman, both inside and out. We’ve known each other since we were little tykes, having grown up as one of the few children on the campus of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. I used to babysit Rose and her brother and sister, and I distinctly remember being the worst babysitter ever, the one who was always like, “let’s not play a game…let’s watch some TV” (I grew up without a TV, so babysitting kids who had a TV was pretty much the highlight of my entire week every time). Rose was so creative, even as a little girl, and I love, love, love that we’re such good friends now that we’re adults. Rose is the first person (after my husband, of course) with whom I share my good news, and the first person I consult with any business questions or challenges. We’re competitors, but, to me, we’re also teammates.
I’m so thrilled to have had the opportunity to photograph this anniversary session with Rose and her husband, Pete! I love both the urban feel and natural sense we were able to capture by photographing their session in downtown Spokane and on the South Hill.
